Unexpected Surgery

Well, I know its been awhile since I wrote so I guess I will let you know what is going on. Some of you that are reading this may not know that my JB was born with Congenital Heart Disease..... He has had 2 major heart surgeries. One when he was 2 months old and the other at 2. He is doing wonderful. He amazes us everyday. He started preschool two weeks ago, and keeps me going everyday. I love watching him learn and grow and discover new things.
So this is why we are in today. I noticed he had an irregular heartbeat on last Sat. we brought him into the ER and they couldn't find anything wrong. So we took him home. I listened to his heart the next couple of nights and everytime he would go to sleep he would start having the irregular heartbeat. Finally, after getting nothing from the doctor I called on Wed night and talked to the on call cardioligist. He told me he would let the dr know. I finally got some results. They wanted us to come in to get a holter to monitor his heart. While we were here (primary childrens) they decided to test his pacemaker. There they found the problem. His lead that is connected to his heart is damaged. He needed it to be replaced. So we were admitted last night and they monitered him over night. He was taken in about 8:15am and in the words of the dr it will take a couple of hours. So that is what we are doing here in good old Primary's. I love this place and the staff. They are awesome. I will post some pictures and more later.

Molly- I cant stop thinking about what it feels like to have a child in need of medical care. You are amazing. A little clarification- they are working on that mechanical workings of the pacemaker, and not the HEART, right? Thats a little better, I think. We sure think the world of you and J- be safe and know you are loved!

Molly, I love you and your little guy. He is a fighter and will do great. And it is wonderful that he has such good and caring parents to take care of him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Molly, Primary Children's is an awesome place. It is not fun to have to worry about little ones and surgery. I hope everything went well. Sounds like you are a very good mom. Sometimes you know more about your kid than the Dr.'s do -- so good job.
