So I know it's been forever since I wrote on my blog. but what can I say.. I am a slacker. I am always thinking of good things to write about but I never do write about them. The last timeI wrote was in May. This is what has happened since then. ( sorry that it is long, has no pictures, and things may be spelled wrong. but it's my blog so it's going to be how I want it.)
May....
J graduated from preschool, then got registered for kindergarten.
We found out we were having a girl and J was not excited at all. It took a couple of days. He asked me one morning if she(the baby) would play with him and if she would like him. I said yes, so now he is ok with having another little sister.
Brett finished up his spring semester and only had a couple of weeks off before he started the summer semester. I was nervous and not happy about him having to go to school during the summer. I've always had him home. but it all has worked out great for now.
We went home for Memorial day... this was an interesting weekend because it was full of quesions from J. I tried to explain death to him simply so he wouldn't get scared. but I also was greatful to have the gospel in my life to help me better explain it and hel him understand. How do you explain to a child why people die... I kept telling him that they got really sick. but then I realized that wasnt a good answer because he gets really sick sometimes. so I finally told him that there bodies and spirits were tired of being here and that the Lord needed their spirits with him.
I started Physical Therapy every week just so I could try to walk normal....
June.....
This month was crazy and fun..... J had a pacer check which turned out to be a good one. He was funny during the appointment. They would speed up his heart and slow it down. He got a really funny look on his face when they did that. He didn't like the way it made him feel.
We celebrated 7 years of marriage. We went to dinner and a movie. It was nice to get away from the kids and let it just be us.
We went to the ward campout which was out by Vernal. It was a fun weekend. It was held at our Bishops cabin. we slept out in our tent. They days were full of events. We were able to go shooting, horseback riding or just hang out at the cabin. Which I did.... I didn't dare go on a horse and I didn't think I would do very good at the shooting. So I watched M & J at the cabin while they played with all the other kids. We just relaxed. When all the adults had rode the horses the kids had a turn. J was way excited to go. I decided I wanted to go. I shouldn't have but I wanted to. It had been sooo long since I have rode. So me and M went on a horse a few times around the corral. My hips felt much better. Alot happened that evening. some of the people rescued a owl, we had a good fire, and a good night sleep. The next day we went up to a peak in the uintas it was neat to see how high we were. J did ok for being up so high. Although, I thought for sure I was going to go into labor. the road was way to bumpy for me. We had a great time and I was glad that we got to go.
Brett's 98 year old grandma was put into the hospital, during fathers day weekend. It was sad to see her there. I still can't believe she is going. I said that you would think she would enjoy it on the other side. She perked up and got better. They did have to put her in assisted living. His 97 year old grandpa just couldn't take care of her anymore. Can you belive they are living that long. I can't. it's amazing. They have done soooo much together that they will leave a good legacy. But, poor grandpa is lost without his sweetheart. I hope we can last as long as they have.
I had a fetal echo to make sure that the baby's heart was in good condition. Brett, was going to go with me. except that both J & M had their summer colds and were not feeling very good. So I went by myself. Everything looked good. I could see some of the parts of the heart that I could recognize. I have to tell you about having an echo.... they turned off all the lights except for one and no one talks to you. sooooo... guess what I fell asleep. I don't know for how long or if I was snoring but I enjoyed a nice quiet sleep.... Everything looked good. I was glad to know it was a big relief. I didn't go to Physical Therapy for 3 weeks. I was doing awsome. but then the 4th of July happened.....
July........
One of the busiest months we have during the year next to December. The 4th of July holiday is crazy for us. we always go to go old Sanpete for our fun.... first we go to Brett's home town for the night before. They always have a dinner, auction, and then the fireworks. His brother from Portland is usually in town so it's lots of fun for the kids to see their cousins. After the city fireworks we do our own. Then we head to my hometown.... We go to the parade, a carnival, my dad's family reunion, and fireworks. This year I wasn't able to do a whole lot so we just stuck close to home. I usually walk everywhere. but this year my dad let me take his 4-wheeler around town. It made it alot easier. I love small town celebrations. I love going home and seeing people you havent in forever. But most of all I just love spending the time with our families. We ended up going back and forth to our parents houses. good thing they only live 45 minutes apart. So after a busy crazy weekend, I was not fuctioning very good so my PT worked my over pretty good. I started feeling better.
Every weekend has been full of family events; baptisms, reunions, bbq's, etc.....
We enjoyed a good time at the Ute Stampede in Nephi. The kids caught tons of cand. (which we are still eating) I tripped over my own foot and screamed like a girl.(oh wait, I am a girl.) so I screamed so bad that I scared my father-in-law. Anyways, we took the kids to the carnival that night and let them ride the rides. they had a blast. M loved everyride that went up & down. J even went down the big slide by himself.
I decided that during the 24th I wasn't going anywhere. I wanted to clean my house, hang out with the kids, and just relax. So we did. We took the kids swimming one day, cleaned the house the other, and did major grocery shopping, and slept most of the other time. I loved being home. I use to be a go every weekend and have fun. but now just being with my family is a lot of fun.
So there you go that is our summer in a nut shell. most of that is from memory. We pretty much spend each day outside in the court, playing, swimming, talking and having fun. I lov ethe memories we are making here. I will be sad when it is time to leave. I will try to keep on my blog from now on.
