Not what I expected....

So a couple of weeks ago I got a phone call from a member of our bishopric. He wanted to come and talk to me and my husband. I was like wow we dodged getting a calling for 4 months that is good. I was expecting something like primary, young women's, relief society. Really, I was just expecting something in the primary or relief society. (because I just came from a ward where those where the only places to get a calling.)
Brother Ormond showed up and I was hoping that he was going to talk to Brett. Of course not. They wanted to call me to be the WOLVES DEN LEADER in Cub Scouts. I was taken back. I couldn't believe it. I was like ok? Brett just started laughing at me. But, I think I am able to do this. I could be a good den leader. I grew up with brothers, on a farm and like to figure things out. I was put in with another lady that knows about as much as I do in scouts.
Any Who... Last night we did our Blue & Gold banquet. I was thrown into that also. I was able to give my two pieces. The theme for the month was Resourcefulness. So we had a HOBO themed.
We made noise makers out of empty toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, cans, bottles, paper plates and other things. Then for dinner we had Squirrel Stew or Hobo soup which ever one you want to call it. Now when hear what is in it your going to DIE!!!! All you do is mix all different kids of soup together. Yep, there was cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, chicken noodle, vegetable beef, clam chowder, tomato, and cream of potato. I am not sure what else but then a couple of cans of water and there you go. I was very hesitant about this. Actually scared! Another leader and I were very nervous. But it turned out really good. We had cornbread cake with it and pudding dirt cups for dessert. It was fun and I am glad I got to be involved. I am actually excited about this and can't wait. It will be a great learning experience and I can't wait to teach these boys. I can't wait for what they will teach me.
The ladies I will be working with seem pretty nice and I am excited to get to know them and more people.
So I am going to jump into this with a willing and happy heart! So watch out world of scouting here comes Molly;)
